Stablecoins – What are they good for?

Join us on 25th February for a discussion on “Stablecoins – What are they good for?”. The APPG will be hearing evidence from GBBC, tokenised GBP, Ripple, and the ICAEW about how and why the usage of Stablecoins is exploding globally with 67% of corporates globally already using or planning to adopt them in the next 6-12 months (EY Report on Stablecoins, Sep 2025). The aim of the session is to bring clarity and confidence to Parliamentarians and define the UK’s opportunity to lead in this sector.

 

Our speakers include: 

• Emma Joyce (Head of EMEA) – Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC): GBBC is the largest leading non-profit association for the blockchain, digital assets, and emerging technologies community and comprises more than 500 institutional members and 251 Ambassadors. It furthers adoption of digital technologies by engaging regulators, business leaders, and global changemakers to harness these transformative tools for more secure and functional societies.
• Benoit Marzouk (CEO) – tokenised GBP (tGBP): The Digital Pound, Done Right! tGBP provides a GBP stablecoin, which is live on exchanges and issued by an FCA-registered cryptoassed firm under the Money Laundering Regulations. The UK already has its GBP stablecoin, ready to comply with the FCA’s incoming regulation. 
• Matt Osborne (Policy Director for Europe & UK) – Ripple: Ripple is a leading provider of digital assets infrastructure to financial institutions, and one of the largest digital assets firms in the UK. They provide payments, stablecoin, custody and prime brokerage services to help institutions build out their digital assets capabilities. 
• Polly Tsang (Senior Financial Services Regulatory Manager) – Institute of Chartered Accounts of England and Wales (ICAEW): The ICAEW has a long history of serving the public interest and continues to work with governments, regulators and business leaders globally.
